A hospitalized old man confesses an old secret to Constable John about a hidden chest of money. John & Nick recover the old chest, which turns out to contain a vast amount of money. They are forced to take turns guarding the loot and their friendship undergoes a severe strain as John begins to suspect Nick of succumbing to the temptations of this huge pile of cash.
