Mrs. Wallace fears that her daughter has become a murderer. Beth returns home and tells her trembling mother how she found another way to keep Luis and Sheridan apart. Meanwhile, a groggy Luis is alarmed to realize he slept right through his planned elopement. After waiting all night in the judge's office, Sheridan fears she's lost Luis forever.
