Vera is furious when Jack spends the morning in the Rovers rather than cleaning windows. She throws him out of the pub. Gordon Lewis arrives to take over the Rovers. Percy doesn't approve of Elaine going to London with Bill. Bill promises that he won't hurt Elaine; he's too fond of her.
