The rich culture of Southern Louisiana is steeped with Cajun folklore and superstition. Weeks earlier, Deputy Tom Arnold was cursed by a suspect, and this comes to haunt the former California native; he must face the fact that this voodoo curse is affecting him. After grappling with one mishap after another, Tom seeks the help of a voodoo priestess to see if she can cure him once and for all. Down the bayou, a "Hatfields and McCoys" type dispute between local shrimpers escalates out of control. Lt. Merlin Daigle and Sgt.
