Clay, Sarge and Simon are escorting a pair of prisoners to Silver City to stand trial for murder. One of the men swears he was innocent of the charges. The men stumbled upon a mortally wounded soldier who tells them a large band of renegade Apaches is on the loose and he was shot while trying to mend the break in a telegraph line so their rampage could be reported to the Army.
