Klein is distraught when Bailey subsequently dies of his injuries. Hunter and Drummond interview the young girl whom Bailey was grooming prior to the attack, and whilst searching her photo album, Hunter finds a picture of his daughter, Maddison. When the young girl identifies herself as Dennis Weaver's goddaughter, Hunter shows Klein a file of mugshots of Weaver's associates, and Klein identifies the gunman as John Finnegan. When Hunter lets slip to Weaver that Klein is willing to testify, Weaver's gang kidnap Klein and pump him full of heroin.
